Resumen
This research focuses on the characterization of the physical properties of the soil in the San Benito neighborhood, located in the town of Ciudad Bolívar, Bogotá D.C. This study is relevant because it provides useful information to support the decision-making of environmental authorities in the management of discharges that affect soil quality.
The focus on the physical properties of the soil is based on its direct influence on its health and functionality. Aspects such as temperature, color, texture, apparent density, real density and humidity determine the capacity of the soil to retain water and nutrients, affecting the behavior of contaminants, their productivity and, consequently, the health of the surrounding ecosystems. This information is key to identifying vulnerable areas and promoting sustainable practices and policies that mitigate the environmental impact of discharges.
Through this study, we seek to contribute not only to the sustainability of the immediate environment, but also to offer a frame of reference on the behavior of the soil in the face of possible discharges. The results of this research will be useful not only for the San Benito neighborhood, but also for other areas with similar conditions and industrial activities.
