Resumen
The Bogotá Savannah is a key territory to understand what the past has been, the experience of the present and the uncertain future of the metropolitan region of Bogotá. This book set out to collect some historical aspects to analyze the transformation of the territory. The central axes of this research were the themes related to culture and the environment. In that sense, it has been privileged to value and know the testimonies of the inhabitants who were born or who have lived a large part of their lives in the municipalities of this space. The interviews that were conducted collect stories and experiences of great historical value and show the deep affection that these inhabitants profess for their savanna land. Identity with the territory is the common element among the various social actors who contributed their testimonies. Hopefully this work will be taken into account by planners at the municipal and regional level, to understand that the territory is built by the communities, and with them and their knowledge it is possible to think about planning, conserving and recovering the natural ecosystems that are everyone's heritage. . Naively pretending that the Bogotá Savannah is the subject of a total conservation policy is far from reality, but on the other hand it is possible to think that communities develop the power to value and defend what remains of this natural wonder.
