Resumen
The present work directs the development and validation of a mathematical model experiment to predict the austenitic grain size in the temperature range intercritical during the tempering process. First, the grain size of austenite was determined by the metallographic study of steel with the use Photographs on the microstructure of the material at two temperatures and different times of maintenance in the oven. Next, the mathematical model is considered having account for all these experimental parameters and the study of the hardness is then carried out of temper to establish its relationship with grain size. In this way it was possible study the influence of austenitic grain size on the hardness of the material in the intercritical temperature range.
