Resumen
In the last 25 years, the global net deforestation rate has decreased by more than 50 percent, according to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). The evident deforestation has generated a loss of close to 129 million hectares of forests on the planet since 1990. To reduce deforestation rates the carbones research group of the Francisco José de Caldas District University has proposed the production of wood as an alternative making use of lignin extracted from low-range coal and modified by oxidative degradation with hydrogen peroxide and assisted by microwaves (MW), which react with the resin and incorporate the natural cellulose support to generate a wood product of optimum characteristics to be implemented to the industry.
