Abstract

This project proposes strategies based on Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EBA) applying some principles of the ecosystem approach to building resilience to climate variability and management risk reduction in Quebradanegra (Utica-Quebradanegra, Cundinamarca) subbasin Located in the Lower Gualivá in Cundinamarca, this sub-basin is characterized by processes of soil degradation impacting the basin of the creek in study and have generated avalanches and landslides, which have worsened in recent years effects of abrupt climate change has influenced climate variability in the region. That is why we involved the community in the design of new knowledge on the issue of adaptation, recovering perceptions regarding the use of ecosystem services that create territorial sustainability and resilience. The methodology used is based upon the principles of EbA, from a spatial, qualitative and quantitative diagnosis can appreciate the perception of the actors and their possible responses to hydrometeorological events. Finally, the study contributes to the implementation of the approach of ecosystem-based adaptation for the country, applied in risk management from a conception of buenvivir, giving an important community perception value, and proposing some adaptation strategies for region
