Selecting a university degree is perhaps one of the most difficult questions at the end of the school stage, connect with the career, with teachers, with subjects or with the university center are many of the questions that arise in front of This decision For a long time, different psychologists and educators have studied and developed different vocational models whose purpose has been to support young people in a better selection, applying different tests and interviews as well as taking into account issues such as social environment, skills among many other factors that are taken into account to give a specific result on the best professional options. Taking advantage of emerging models and technologies, this study aims to design a virtual assistant prototype to provide guidance to students of secondary education, based on an affinity model built from the study of different vocational models. The implementation of this prototype aims to contribute to the decrease of student desertion in the first semesters of the faculties of Engineering of the Francisco Jos´e de Caldas District University. Chatbots or conversational interfaces as they are commonly known, present a new way in which people interact with information systems. In other times for a person to have a response from software was necessary to use a search engine or fill out a form. A Chatbot allows people to interact with automated software in such a way that they simulate human behavior. The most significant advances in Bots have occurred with the use of Natural Language (”NPL”), this has led to the generation of a large amount of research that will lead to a continuous improvement in the effectiveness of these systems. You can create bots from a list of frequently asked questions about a website in such a way that it provides information to users in an interactive way. Most commercial chatbots rely on platforms created by technological giants for their natural language processing. These include Amazon Lex, Microsoft Cognitive Services, Google Cloud Natural Language API, Facebook DeepText and IBM Watson. The platforms where chatbots are implemented include Facebook Messenger, Skype and Slack, among many others.
