Apoyo en la implementación del plan de gestión integral de residuos sólidos (PGRIS) del Centro Policlínico del Olaya

Abstract

Centro Policlínico del Olaya is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its healthcare operations by increasing recyclable waste, implementing technology and proper management of hospital waste. This document details an experience that supported the implementation of the Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan (PGIRS) in the institution. The work focused on strengthening the PGIRS to comply with the Environmental Policy and minimize the environmental and health risks associated with inadequate disposal of hospital waste. During the process, a weekly monitoring system was implemented to identify problems in waste segregation, hazardous waste labeling and the use of personal protective equipment. The activities carried out led to significant improvements in these areas, ensuring safe and efficient waste management at the clinic.
