Energy consumption in an organization is a fundamental basis for its progress, but it is more progressive if it is understood as a resource that optimizes processes, reduce costs, and prioritize the control of environmental impacts associated with electricity consumption, in this work the energy characterization is developed in the planning phase for the final certification of the NTC ISO 50001:2019 at the National Institute of Health, a public entity, developing the collection of information on equipment inventory and cargo census which is established in the Business Project Formulation Guide for Energy Sustainability of the Secretaria Distrital de Ambiente, this collection of information was based on the identification of the equipment, its energy consumption and its operation in the course of the month, in order to identify the Significant Uses of energy, which areas consume more, and which should be focused on an improvement of culture, infrastructure or equipment modernization at the Institute, in order to improve energy performance, and energy costs associated with all these final processes, in turn for the final implementation of improvement actions, operational energy and environmental education controls directed at Institute officials and contractors.
