Abstract

The image contains news about Decree Number 1278 of 1894. This decree declares nonexistent the reduction in import duties applied to wheat semolina and other inputs for the manufacture of noodles and pasta. The revocation is based on the fact that only three establishments have taken advantage of the reduction that has existed since 1888, and it is considered that the time that has passed has been sufficient to promote the development of said industry. Furthermore, it is argued that wheat, as a raw material, is produced in the country and can be transformed into semolina using appropriate mills and equipment available locally, and that packaging boxes can also be manufactured in the country.
