Resumen
This document has the design and implementation results of a permanent cardiac monitoring device (very similar to holter devices) focused to help arrhythmia detection, mainly sinusal tachycardias and bradycardias, in order to speed up the ECG register analysis by the especialist and increase the success percentage in the diagnosis. On the other hand this document presents two innovative components in the colombian clinic context. The first one is the implementation, inside an ARM Cortex M4F MCU, of a powerfull digital signal processing tool called continuous discrete wavelet transform (WCD) which was proved in the R wave detection in the work of [2] with satisfactory results for the database resisters analyzed in that moment, moreover the González method was used to determine the R-R interval and in that way support the detection of any tachycardia or bradycardia. The second one consists in the implementation of this embedded system into the internet of things (IoT) context making this device not only gets the ECG register and detects the kinds of arrhythmias mentioned above, but also works together with a web server to bring the ECG register and the processed data to the health professional when required.
