Arte y educación. un análisis a las políticas públicas en Bogotá (1994-2010)

Abstract

If we accept that some research has a beginning but not always an end, because it develops under the influence of particular interests, we can also recognize that it constitutes a constant process of questioning reality and, at the same time, an ongoing dialogue with culture. In this sense, the school emerges and acquires a decisive role, since the State, responsible for guaranteeing rights and duties, creating spaces for citizen participation, and building national identity, has entrusted it with the responsibility of fulfilling these functions. From this perspective, the present research seeks to analyze the link between art and school education, a connection that has been maintained over time under the auspices of different ideological and social currents. This link, rather than a fortuitous event, seems to respond to structural conditions that justify its permanence in educational settings. The central purpose of this work is to identify and understand how the relationship between art and education has been configured, organized, and developed in schools, specifically within the Bogotá education system. To this end, public documents produced by national and district entities, as well as by multilateral organizations that have exerted significant political and economic influence in the region, are examined
