Resumen
The Geographic Institute Agustín Codazzi (IGAC) opens the door of the institute in order to do the review, evaluation and update of all processes and activities; To this end monitoring processes established during the internship and a document specifying an updated report. The implementation of corrective, preventive and improvement of the environmental impacts generated by the institute will be evaluated in order to structure a series of documents that allow, prevent pollution caused by direct or indirect activity, comply shares the environmental requirements, improve the environmental performance of the institute for their workers, suppliers and customers directly. The design and implementation of Environmental Management System (SGA) is a strategic tool of collective construction that seeks to achieve the corporate objective to achieve compliance with environmental legislation and other legal provisions to mitigate environmental impacts generated by the activities in the IGAC also evidence the responsibility to future generations and help to generate a life of respect for the environment. Investments made by the current administration to implement the Environmental Management System (SGA) in the IGAC are quite significant; this can be measured by the achievements and performance indicators that reflect this. But more work is needed. The challenge is to continue strengthening the knowledge and commitment to continuous improvement and sustainability of SGA. In order to contribute to updating the SGA and optimize the efficient use of resources at the headquarters of the IGAC, this internship aims supporting and providing support to environmental management system based on the NTC-ISO 14001: 2015, by reviewing, monitoring and maintenance of the processes established in the IGAC, in compliance with the current regulations in force. This represents a great opportunity for environmental engineer and training in the environmental impact assessment with emphasis on standards and improving the guidelines of proper environmental management, social responsibility, pursuit of sustainable development and awareness for the environment in which the school operates.
