Resumen
The book that we present under the title Reflections on Academic Work in the Ibero-American Context integrates six works carried out by a group of Ibero-American researchers, speakers at the VII Congress of Latin American University Education, held from the 29th to the 31st of October 2007 at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico. It is interesting to bring these works together for several reasons: firstly, the topic has been worked on by researchers from different areas: sociologists, pedagogues, historians, philosophers, who from different approaches place the university professor at the center of the debate, given the importance that acquires their actions, their ways of seeing and acting, their reflections, thoughts and speeches; their conceptualizations about the different tasks that involves academic work; their role in social processes, the role it has assumed in the development of universities and its influence on the political and social processes of the different contexts here analyzed.
