Acuerdo No. 21 sobre el establecimiento de un Hipódromo

Abstract

The image contains a notice about the Agreement Number 21 of 1891 in which a contract on the establishment of a racetrack is approved, this by the Municipal Council of Bogota in use of its powers, therefore it is agreed that the contract with the Mayor of the Municipality and Mr. Carlos José Espinosa and Rafael Espinosa G. is approved, for the establishment of a Hippodrome or a circus for horse racing, defining the latter as the concessionaires that will have certain commitments such as the establishment in the Municipality of such place which will have the necessary conditions according to the purpose of the same and the comfort of the spectators. Additionally, it is mentioned that the new Racetrack will be named De la Gran Sabana and this will be of particular character and the concessionaires will have the capacity to define the entrance and registration fees of the horses and everything concerning the show, including the rules for the development of the same. Finally it is stipulated that to ensure compliance with said contract the concessionaires shall pay a bond of 5000 pesos in favor of the Municipality and the need for approval of the Honorable Municipal Council.
