| dc.description | El hecho de conectar a la población de la zona rural con el mundo de la tecnología digital y, por ende, con la información libre, es un reto social importante para países en vía de desarrollo. Las instituciones educativas rurales, en general, se mantienen aisladas puesto que no se conocen ni intercambian información. El presente artículo describe la investigación de diseño e implementación de un sistema que integra instituciones educativas de la zona rural del municipio de Cajamarca (Tolima, Colombia). El estudio de tráfico justifica la elección de la tecnología 3.5G para la conexión a Internet; el sistema se basa en el diseño de una aplicación web desarrollada en código de HTML y PHP cuya codificación se hizo en Joomla, sistema de gestión de contenidos CMS (por sus siglas en inglés) de código abierto, y cuyo contenido se consulta en el hosting dado por la Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas. | es-ES |
| dc.description | Connecting rural population to the world of digital technology, thus to free information, is an important social challenge in developing countries. Educational institutions in rural areas generally remain isolated because there is no access to or exchange of information. This paper describes research-based design and implementation of a system that integrates educational institutions in the rural municipality of Cajamarca (Tolima –Colombia). A traffic load study justifies the choice of technology to be 3.5G Internet connection.
