Resumen
The present research presents a theoretical view where theoretical and practical (since the experience) aspects are related to the adoption process in Colombia, it is also understood as a protection measure that irrevocably establishes the paternal-filial relationship between people who do not have it by nature. Besides, it seeks to reveal the knowledge and stories about adoption held by a group of young people who have graduated from the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare and who were classified as being difficult to adopt. This exercise will be based on listening to the life stories of these young people, from which it is possible to understand the hidden problems of the phenomenon of adoption - those children who were left waiting to be adopted with all that this implies - having a family, building family ties, security, affection, protection
The present research wants to obtain information related to the positive situations within the institutional process and the way in which they assume that they were not located in a family environment and that they should assume their own destiny, as it is stated by the ICBF prepared for an independent life. At the same time, it is necessary to know how the formative stages and preparation for adult life are developed and how they have handled the imaginaries behind institutionalized life and life outside the institutions.
