Abstract

In this edition of Voces y Regiones, the concept of coexistence is explored, emphasizing its importance in different settings such as the city, family, and school. A harmonious coexistence is essential for strengthening social bonds, fostering mutual respect, and preventing conflicts. In the city, coexistence is based on respecting rules, promoting tolerance, and encouraging civic participation to ensure a safe and fair environment. Within the family, it plays a crucial role in emotional and social development, reinforcing values such as dialogue and empathy. In schools, coexistence supports peaceful conflict resolution, inclusion, and respect for diversity, all of which are essential for a healthy learning environment. However, issues such as intolerance, violence, and lack of communication can negatively impact coexistence in these areas. Therefore, implementing strategies like values-based education, conflict mediation, and public policies that promote a more peaceful and integrated society is crucial.
