Creación de una pieza musical basada en una fotografía y hechos del suceso conocido como la masacre de Bojayá

Abstract

Correr tras el viento (Chasing the wind) is a composition that aims to raise a voice against the nonsense-violence which Colombia is and has been through, the musical piece is added to the process of historical memory and no repetition, by keeping alive through art, the horrors lived by the inhabitants of the Chocoan and Antioquian Atrato in the event known as the Bojayá’s killing in 2002. This work implies a phase of graphical, written and audiovisual information compilation from the media at the Centro Nacional de Memoria Histórica (National Center of Historical Memory), also it deeps into the concept of music and image, symbolism and language as a base for the piece’s composition. Finally, the concepts products of this investigation are integrated to create the piece Correr tras el viento, composed for brass quintet and fixed sound from elements related to the killing.
