Added to this problem is the global pandemic due to COVID-19, which has generated changes in people's consumption habits and, with that, a change in the quantity and characteristics of household solid waste generated. The objective of this work is to evaluate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic for the city of Bogotá and the Doña Juana Landfill (RSDJ), located to the south of it, in terms of quantity and characteristics of household waste; likewise, formulate management measures in order to strengthen an adequate collection, transport and final disposal of these. It was shown that, due to the COVID -19 pandemic, the generation of household solid waste increased in the city of Bogotá, affecting the useful life of the RSDJ and the comprehensive management of solid waste in the city.
