Resumen
This project was carried out in order to satisfy a need to increase the load that exists in a coal mine in the town of Samacá, Boyacá with the design of a 150 [kVA] pole-type electrical substation, and allow an update and development technology to your mining processes. Currently the operation of the MAYAK-1 mine is not carried out efficiently, obsolete machinery is used and handcrafted, susceptible to constant failures, which produce unscheduled stops in the coal exploitation works. The use of this artisanal machinery arises from not carrying out an appropriate management and planning of the increase in production in the mine. The low current load contracted with the EBSA network operator for the energy demand that the mine requires, limits the modernization of the exploitation processes, this motivates the development of a design for a 150 [kVA] pole-type electrical substation, to increase its installed capacity of more efficient machinery for production that the mine demands. A visit to the mine facilities was made to learn about the current process used for mining, to carry out a survey of the installed electrical load and its currently used machinery in order to make a projection of future demanded load and to propose the type of substation needed in the mine. In response to the requirements of the parties interested in the production of coal in the mine, a table of future loads was projected to determine the power of the transformation center in the electrical design of the substation, the transformer protections, the conductors and other elements that the form. An economic study is carried out to determine the cost of implementation of the electrical substation, in comparison with an alternative of implementation of a generator set and the current production process.
