Abstract

The radio program "Voces y Regiones" offered an in-depth analysis of the problem of corruption in Colombia. The participants highlighted the importance of transparency and citizen participation as fundamental pillars to combat this scourge. Key Points: Corruption as a systemic problem: It was emphasized that corruption is not an isolated problem, but rather a phenomenon rooted in society that affects multiple sectors, from politics to business. The importance of transparency: It was highlighted that transparency is essential to prevent corruption. Access to public information, such as data on political campaign financing, allows citizens to exercise more effective control over their representatives. The role of citizens: Citizens have a crucial role in the fight against corruption. By exercising their right to information, participating in citizen oversight and demanding accountability from their representatives, they can contribute to creating a more just and equitable society. The role of institutions: Government institutions, such as the Attorney General's Office, the Prosecutor's Office and the Comptroller's Office, have the responsibility of investigating and punishing acts of corruption. However, the need to strengthen these institutions so that they can effectively fulfill their function was highlighted. The need for a cultural change: It was recognized that the fight against corruption requires a profound cultural change. It is necessary for society as a whole to reject corruption and value honesty and transparency.
