Resumen
The project focuses on the design of a fire refrigeration network for a LPG tank identified with a capacity of 15,000 gallons belonging to the company RAPIDGAS S.A.S. E.S.P. This company does not currently have a system that generates adequate protection for the tank in case of a fire; and according to resolution 40247 of 2016 issued by the Ministry of Mines and Energy of the Colombian territory it is mandatory to implement a refrigeration network system against fires in LPG tanks with a capacity greater than 4,000 gallons; Therefore, it is necessary to carry out an analysis with the in order to identify the necessary parameters to carry out the design of the network; for this, it relies on the NFPA standards, which internationally govern the factors and criteria that influence the time of make the correct hydraulic calculations, in order to select the accessories, pumping system and the capacity of the tank to supply the hydraulic need. Once all the hydraulic calculations have been made and the accessories and pumping system have been selected appropriately proceed to use the EPANET software (free use); to achieve simulate and corroborate the effectiveness of the design and that at the time of the implementation of the network everything works out appropriately. Finally, in every company an economic factor must be considered; which It is of great importance, since it influences the development of any project.
