Guía metodológica para la disminución de gases efecto invernadero en los rellenos sanitarios de Colombia

Abstract

This document presents a methodology for the reduction of greenhouse gases for sanitary landfills through the types of final disposal classified into authorized systems and unauthorized systems in accordance with the legislative framework for waste in Colombia, as well as the technical and / or operational for the development of the final disposal of waste. The distribution of sanitary landfills according to the processes or phases of their development have been identified according to the characteristics of the site or space provided for waste, also considering current regulations. The generation of Greenhouse Gases produced in the sanitary landfill will be identified according to its processes developed by decomposition or generation of biogas. In the waste sector, emissions from disposal in landfills, wastewater treatment and waste incineration will be taken into account for Colombia. Related to biological and thermal treatments and mitigation and adaptation actions, considered one of the biggest challenges facing the capital cities of Colombia that leads to various problems for climate change. Finally, an analysis through the difficulties, opportunities, strengths and threats (DOFA) to know the general perspective of sanitary landfills in Colombia, identifying possible improvements or technical and/or operational alternatives in the processes or stages of internal development. and external.
