USO Y PERCEPCIONES DEL MANUAL DE MEDIO AMBIENTE POR PARTE DE LOS ASESORES Y GESTORES AMBIENTALES DEL EJÉRCITO NACIONAL DE COLOMBIA

Abstract

In the present research results are presented after the analysis on the exploration of knowledge , use and perceptions of the Manual Environmental 2008 version of the National Army by managers and environmental consultants. A qualitative perspective is used as methodology approach, using elements of ethnography; concerning the type of research it was used the exploratory one. Semi-structured interview, survey, observation visits, meetings and approaches to military and citizens were used to identify the perceptions of managers and environmental consultants. After the review and the analysis of restricted documents supplied by the Army, reading management reports and analysing the tools applied, it is possible to conclude that some answers that were given by managers and environmental consultants are contradictory. Although they a good use of the manual, they sometimes categorized it as a decontextualized tool. For them there is no difference between management and environmental education taking a look categorized as object environment, which becomes a great failure of the institution, since the non-formal training of environmental managers is absent in these issues. The strength of the book is its easy access, and within the command of the military forces of Colombia, the Army is the only institution with such a tool.
