Estudio y diseño de intranet para cuatro laboratorios ubicados en el edificio Techne de la Facultad Tecnológica de la Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas

Abstract

This degree project presents the study and design of an intranet network for four laboratories located in the Techne building of the Facultad Tecnológica of the Universidad Distrital Francisco Jose de Caldas. The project was developed based on the specific needs of the academic programs of Control and Automation Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Telematics Engineering, Data Systematization Technology and Industrial Electronics Technology, which make use of the following spaces: Networks and Information Security Laboratory, Distributed Systems Laboratory, Telecommunications Laboratory and Automation and Control Laboratory. Currently, the Facultad Tecnológica does not have an intranet network infrastructure implemented in these laboratories, which limits the proper development of the practices required by the different curricular projects. This situation shows the need to design a solution that allows the fulfillment of the programmatic content of the subjects that require Intranet network connectivity for its correct execution. To carry out this project, various activities were carried out, including: the study of academic requirements, the collection of information through surveys of the coordinators of the laboratories, the analysis of the plans of the laboratories, the technical evaluation of the spaces, the collection of information on the network equipment available in the market, the validation of current regulations, the selection of appropriate software and, finally, the design of the Intranet network. As a result, an integral design of intranet network was obtained that responds to the current needs of the four laboratories located in the Techne building of the Facultad Tecnológica and that contributes to the training of future technologists and engineers of the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas.
