Fangal. El relato de una identidad Morisca. (Bitácora literaria teatral de la Máscara Sensible)

Abstract

Having established that I am a woman, a single mother, and an actress who is as “paisa” as she is from Bogotá, I started to inquire and rebuild my own life story, in order to understand how I managed to put together a Moorish identity (understood as an encounter of the arabian, the gypsy, and the Andalusian cultures) while facing a chronic identity conflict or an everlasting feeling of not-belonging. To achieve this goal, I used tolls from theatre and literature, seeking a research approach which would help me take some distance from myself so as to be able to find some answers and reflect upon the construct of my identity as objectively as possible, and at the same time being able to experience how to conduct a research in and from the arts, which in my case is an autoethnography. Therefore, the research approach conceived for this particular project is called The Theatrical Literary Blog of the Sensible Mask, which is as well the resulting artistic product.
