Abstract

The interview on the Voces y Regiones program presents Jorge Eliezer Martínez, spokesperson for the Afro Chocó organization, who shares his experience and the organization's work for the benefit of the Afro-descendant community and the youth of Chocó. Martínez recounts the creation of Afro Chocó four years ago, highlighting its focus on entrepreneurship, youth leadership and cultural identity of young Chocoans. In the interview, the main challenges of the department are addressed, such as the lack of employment and education, and the low youth political participation. Martínez calls on young people to join organizational initiatives that contribute to the development of the region, promoting joint work and youth empowerment. In addition, business opportunities, training and the need to improve access to higher education for young people in Chocó are discussed.
