Resumen
This study focuses on the communicative process that occurs during a contemporary dance piece. It seeks to study the development of the idea that motivates the choreography, which is, in turn, the intention, the motivation, the discourse that links the choreographer, the performers, and the spectators. Many factors intervene in this process: the images and visualizations of both the choreographer and the performers. In fact, the choreographer probably forms an idea of the piece before meeting the performers or before beginning to work with them; but this depends on the specific conditions of each case. Therefore, this study is very unique to each creation, so it is worth emphasizing that the results of this study will be very specific to the V year productions of the ASAB (Academia Superior de Artes de Bogotá) carried out in 2013, in which the study will take place.
The purpose is to follow the trajectory of the dance intention and the construction of a discourse, that is, the objective of the work, for the choreographer and for the performers, what they intend to express not only narratively, but everything that can be developed through dance; this includes dramaturgical factors, movement factors, construction of concepts, postures, lines of thought, spatial and emotional relationships, the relationship of the bodies with the music...
The intention is then to reveal how the entirety of this discourse links the agents involved in the development of the work (choreographers, performers, and spectators), and by tracing the development of each of their ideas of the work, to make visible the relationships that may exist between them; this is motivated by the role of the spectator and the importance given to them during the creative process.
