Resumen
In the auto mechanics sector, many chemical products are used in all its processes. The manipulation of these generates a risk that must be identified, evaluated, controlled and prevented. Lubricants, motor oils, paints
and glue besides to using flammable gases such as oxyacetylene welding, these products are composed by (hydrocarbons, alcohol, ether, ketone, water, toluene among others),these supplies can be constituted by heavy metals and organic compounds. Exposure to these can lead to an absorption of the constituent products of the same, through the skin, or through inhalation (it is frequent in the painting process). All these substances can kind of cause serious changes in the workers health, and it is convenient to identify the exposure to them, evaluate them, and propose effective control measures to each case. The risk of fires is high in this type of sector. This is due to a multitude of factors, which are part of the economic activity, such as, the use of chemical agents that may have a flammable nature, or the paper presence, cardboard and other similar materials in the packaging and storage process. The storage of these products can also be a source of fire. The manipulation of these chemical substances in the process generates a risk for the health and safety of workers since there is no program to identify, evaluate and control chemical risk.
