Resumen
The "Voces y Regiones" program addresses the issue of architectural barriers, explaining their definition and classification into urban, transportation, and building-related barriers, as well as their impact on people with disabilities, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups. It analyzes mobility challenges in Ibagué, including the lack of adequate infrastructure and societal barriers such as the occupation of public spaces. The discussion includes Law 1618 of 2013, which guarantees the inclusion of people with disabilities. Additionally, intangible barriers like stereotypes and lack of accessibility in communication, especially for the deaf community, are highlighted. The program emphasizes the need for greater commitment from public and private entities to improve accessibility and ensure the right to dignity and equality for people with disabilities.
