Resumen
This paper analyzes the acting profession in Bogotá, comparing actors trained in theater groups (La Candelaria, Quimera, and Varasanta) with actors from the Faculty of Arts of the Francisco José de Caldas District University - ASAB and the Higher School of Dramatic Art ENAD. These groups are examined for their acting research methods from training and creation, and ENAD and ASAB are examined for being benchmarks of public professional education for actors in Bogotá.
The research seeks to determine the perspective of the acting profession at the beginning of the 21st century in Bogotá, based on a comparative analysis between actors trained in public academies and those trained in groups in the city. The scarcity of written material on reflection on the acting profession at ASAB motivated this work. There is a lack of documentation of actors' creative processes and reflections, and an absence of academic spaces to study and socialize this material. It is important that actors, whether from academia or a group, understand how the profession is practiced in Bogotá in the 21st century, how knowledge is applied, what difficulties are faced in creative processes, and what aspects should be improved for the evolution of the profession.
