Resumen
In the dynamic and highly regulated context of the Colombian banking sector, the efficient and secure management of financial transactions is a strategic priority for financial institutions. In particular, the custody area plays a crucial role in safeguarding and administering clients' financial assets. In this regard, designing an effective workflow to securely document transactions within the custody area becomes imperative to ensure integrity, transparency, and compliance with financial regulations. This thesis focuses on designing a comprehensive transaction management system for the custody area of a Colombian banking institution. The projectaddresses the need to improve operational risk control associated with financial transaction documentation while enhancing security and efficiency in financial asset management. The first section provides the research context, covering the regulatory framework, sector challenges, and project objectives. The second section develops the core of the research, including data collection, requirement analysis, and the design of the proposed model. Finally, the third section presents the research conclusion, featuring system validation, findings, and recommendations for future implementations. Throughout this thesis, key aspects of workflow design are explored, including technological, regulatory, and information security considerations. Best practices in project management, the Scrum methodology, and interdisciplinary collaboration are analyzed to ensure project success and alignment with the banking institution's strategic objectives. Ultimately, this project is expected to deliver significant value to the Colombian banking sector by improving operational efficiency, strengthening the security of financial transactions, and fostering client trust in the management of financial assets within the custody area.
