Abstract

The "Voices and Regions" program addresses issues of youth political participation in the department of Chocó, especially in the context of local elections. Claus Colbert, youth leader and spokesperson in Chocó, shares the difficulties that young people face in getting involved in politics, due to the corruption and clientelism prevalent in the region. However, the effort to generate change through political proposals that promote social well-being, overcoming poverty and strengthening infrastructure stands out. The young people of Chocó seek to regain trust in institutions and create a government closer to the people. In addition, they reflect on the importance of active political participation and authentic democracy for the improvement of social and economic conditions in their region.
