Abstract

The recirculation of raw materials in our country has lacked initiatives, in the case plastic industry the percentages are relatively low (6%), being a packaging material with high possibilities of reuse. The plastics industry under normal conditions is the most dynamic manufacturing activity (7% average annual growth), post-consumer plastic is highly dispersed and the item that most influences the process is collection. To optimize the use in the Colombian technical guides GTC 24 and GTC 86, criteria are suggested for the environmental management stages. In order to handle alternatives other than final disposal in sanitary landfills in Colombia, the use and reuse of solid waste has been regulated, the greatest difficulty is in the lack of separation at the source and the great variety of plastic, hence it's necessary to focus attention on finding the best option for their reuse.
