Semblanza y memoria: La Facultad de Ingeniería y el devenir de la Universidad Distrital (1948-1979)

Abstract

This document is the materialization of an effort to approach the reconstruction of the history of an institution that has sought to reverse the deficiencies of an educational system that initially did not want to bet on the University, but that did not count on the persistence of students, professors and workers who have constituted it. In the following pages, aspects related to the first decades of university life are revealed. Not all the aspects or all the characters are included, as this is a first approximation to present a minimum document that accounts for the past of the University of the Capital. In a long-term investigation, surely more actors, more situations, more stories can be added, perhaps, much more memory. These pages represent encouragement for researchers who are interested in it and invite them to join in the task of writing that history and fill the gaps and questions that remain after reading this book.
