Resumen
The program "Voices and Regions", promoted by the Directorate for Citizen Participation and Community Action of the Ministry of the Interior, focuses on promoting active citizenship, especially in the electoral context. It is broadcast in collaboration with the Universidad Distrital de Colombia and Radio Universidad de Nariño, offering spaces for reflection on crucial issues such as corruption, which deeply affects the social and economic development of the country. In the current broadcast, corruption is addressed as a phenomenon that perpetuates poverty and hinders the fulfillment of the Millennium Development Goals. The importance of citizens understanding their role in the electoral process is highlighted, emphasizing the need to vote in an informed and responsible manner. The microprogram "Corruptos, Plata y Lechona" illustrates how corruption manifests itself in daily life and how it affects communities, especially the most vulnerable. Interventions by experts, such as sociologist Cristian Fraga, underline that the fight against corruption requires a cultural change and greater collective awareness of its effects. It is mentioned that corruption is not perceived as a serious evil by many, which contributes to its perpetuation. In addition, young people are called upon to become agents of change, promoting an education that fosters ethics and social responsibility. Finally, it is concluded that active citizen participation is essential to demand transparency and accountability from those in power. Citizens must get involved in social control and not resign themselves to corruption, demanding real commitment from their leaders and a positive impact on their communities.
