Abstract

The image contains a news item about: "The work of the Bolívar bridge" By drawing the attention of the enlightened public to this interesting matter, we believe it is our duty to mention the names of the people who have participated in the important work of the beautiful bridge that It has just been built on the San Francisco River, a short distance from the "Quinta de Bolívar" the northern upper part of the city with the La Aguas neighborhood, which were cut off by the river for a considerable distance. This convenient, useful, and comfortable work is due to the enlightened Government of Cundinamarca, worthily presided over by General D. Jaime Córdoba, and to the direct and immediate intervention in it of our esteemed friend, the cultured and sympathetic gentleman, Dr. D. Nicólas J Casas who with the intelligence, efficiency and activity that characterize him has covered the formal and material direction of the works, and at the same time the historical monument, since it bears the name of the Liberator and its decoration contains engravings in brief Roman characters commemorative words of the virtues of the hero of the Homeland, and to leave consigned in him, engraved in stone his immortality. It could not be otherwise. because Mr. Doctor Casas is one of the illustrious Colombians formed according to the teaching of the Father of the Nation.
