Abstract

Pet Valet is a mobile application that offer service solutions to pet’s owners for the due care of domestic animals. This app works as an intermediary between the pet’s owners and the caregivers, better known as the collaborative economy model. They provide his interface to pet lovers, that have enough time to take care or take a walk to domestic animals (without being professionals in the field). In exchange the pet sitters get an economic retribution from the pet’s owners. The caregiver user must pay only an amount for the use of the application, for each service provided through this. In this document you will find a study of the competitors of Pet Valet. This study pretends to identify opportunities for improvement for the App against his peers. The evaluation includes the apps that have a greater impact in the sector of products and services aimed to pets. The different characteristics and services of the applications described were analyzed. These aspects were taken as the basis for the identification of improvement proposals, so Pet Valet could have a wider variety of services and functionalities to provide to the caretaker user and the pet owner user. As a result, an optimized application is proposed, which can become more competitive in the market.
