dc.descriptionEste informe presenta la adaptación del sistema MapBiomas Alerta para el monitoreo de la deforestación en los ecosistemas andinos de Colombia, desarrollada en la Fundación Gaia Amazonas entre agosto y diciembre de 2025. Se validaron y refinaron alertas de remoción de cobertura vegetal con tasas de aprobación superiores al 90%, identificando como principales vectores de presión la actividad pecuaria, agropecuaria y agrícola. El trabajo incluyó la construcción de una base de datos geoespacial, la elaboración de documentos técnicos. Los resultados fortalecen la institucionalidad de MapBiomas Alerta Colombia y ofrecen insumos validados para IDEAM, CARs, ONGs y comunidades locales en la gestión y control de la deforestación.
dc.description.abstractThis report presents the adaptation of the MapBiomas Alert system for monitoring deforestation in the Andean ecosystems of Colombia, carried out at Fundación Gaia Amazonas between August and December 2025. Alerts of vegetation cover removal were validated and refined with approval rates above 90%, identifying livestock, agro-livestock, and agricultural activities as the main pressure drivers. The work included the construction of a geospatial database and the preparation of technical documents. The results strengthen the institutional framework of MapBiomas Alert Colombia and provide validated inputs for IDEAM, CARs, NGOs, and local communities in the management and control of deforestation.
