Abstract

The Council deeply regrets the death of Dr. José Segundo Peña; recognizes the important services he rendered to the Municipality in the various public positions he held; admires the dedication, activity, honesty and remarkable skills he displayed in those positions; solemnly honors his memory and presents his life to the people of Bogota as an example worthy of imitation. Art. 2. A portrait of Dr. Peña will be placed in the Council meeting room, as soon as possible, with the following inscription: Testimony of gratitude of the Municipal Council of Bogota to the exalted citizen Dr. José Segundo Peña. Art. 3. The Mayor of the city is empowered to comply with the previous article. Art. 4. Authentic copy of this Agreement will be sent to Dr. Peña's widow. News published on May 10-1899
