Resumen
In the “Apulaima” farm, located in the village of La Esperanza in the municipality of La Mesa in Cundinamarca, there are mainly agricultural activities related to coffee cultivation and tourism, which are aligned with the municipality's economic activities. However, the traditional method used for coffee processing and the lack of implementation of ecotourism generate significant negative impacts on the biotic, abiotic and socioeconomic environments in a differential manner. For this reason, the objective of this study is to formulate an environmental management plan to prevent, control and/or mitigate the environmental problems derived from the activities carried out on the farm, within the framework of sustainable development. Using a qualitative methodological approach that included identifying the environmental baseline for the different environments and components, characterizing the activities and processes carried out, and evaluating the impacts generated, a management plan was proposed that contains measures aimed at promoting economic development, optimizing the use of resources, and minimizing the environmental impacts of each process. As a result, the need was identified to implement an ecological coffee mill to take advantage of by-products, reduce wastewater and reduce water consumption, as well as promote ecotourism with the implementation of the necessary elements for its execution. Thus, the establishment of the environmental characterization made it possible to identify the elements to be conserved and/or improved with the implementation of the measures and the main intervention needs with the management plan. Consequently, this instrument contributes to the modification of the activities that are currently being carried out on the farm and other future activities that are planned, minimizing the current impacts on the environment and seeking to achieve an economic, social and environmental balance, taking into account the economic needs of the people.
