Somos Memoria: La Literatura como Herramienta para la Construcción de Memoria Colectiva en la Escuela

Abstract

This project has as main objetive the comprehension and critical reflection about violence and armed conflict in Colombia and how it affects schools. In order to do so, we will make use of the multiple tools offered by the literature field. The pedagogical work made here is based on the critical reading of three novels: ‘La ceiba de la memoria’ (Burgos Cantor), ‘Cien años de soledad’ (Gabriel García Márquez), and ‘Los ejércitos’ (Evelio Rosero). All of them remarcable colombian authors. Together, they allow a complete analysis of the historical past; the origins, kinds of it, ways of perpetuate the conflict, the context, the human and social consequences of violence. In addition, they facilitate the process of envisage the resistance and the fights for keeping alive the memory while perpetuating cultural identity.
