Resumen
The fourth industrial revolution is a stage characterized by the application of new technologies in all areas of the organization, which implies changes in the way companies work. In this way, the manufacturing sector affected by the current health emergency must adapt to the changes of a globalized world and a competitive environment produced by technological advancement and innovation. Industry 4.0 represents an opportunity to face the crisis of Bogota's SMEs in the manufacturing sector, applying new technologies and connecting them to an increasingly competitive and innovative environment.
The purpose of this document is to show an overview of the implementation of the fourth industrial revolution in small and medium-sized manufacturing companies in Bogotá. In this way, contribute to establish a roadmap that allows to implement the technologies that Industry 4.0 brings to Colombian companies.
The methodology was divided into three phases. In the first, a contextualization of SMEs in the manufacturing sector in the country was carried out, identifying the barriers and opportunities for the implementation of the fourth industrial revolution; The second phase consisted of collecting relevant information about the approach of Industry 4.0 through a survey of 102 SMEs in the manufacturing sector, and in the third phase the results obtained were documented. Among the conclusions of the study, it is highlighted that 85% of the companies do not carry out training in industry 4.0 tools, only 18.6% of the companies have an investment plan in 4.0 technologies, only 3.9% use specialized software for the processing of your data and 36.3% of companies do not use any cybersecurity method.
