In terms of fulfilling its mission and vision, the District University seeks strategies in all areas that guarantee institutional development and its evolution as an educational center that adapts to the needs of a society in constant movement and change. One of the challenges facing the university is the incorporation and updating of new information and communication technologies that help the integration, dissemination and strengthening of research, science, technology and innovation in society. Knowledge of which the university and its community are part. In accordance with the above, there is an institutional guideline established as a missionary objective for the structuring of ICT technologies according to the needs related to teaching, research, extension, administrative and financial support processes, control bodies and address. Supported in turn by the principles, objectives and processes defined by the framework for IT governance and management in organizations that establishes COBIT 5.0 for university units related to technology, including: • RITA (Advanced Technology Research Network) • SIGTIC • DOTE • MIDAS • UD-Insurance • UD data network • ATENEA • PLANESTIC On the other hand, COBIT 5.0, as a framework of governance and management, as well as internal control, also provides pertinent guidelines that are equally applicable to public institutions, such as the District University and, at the same time Are in compliance with legal provisions, such as Law 87 of 1993, which establishes rules for the exercise of internal control in state entities and agencies and their subsequent modifications and / or corrections, and the audit guide for public entities. This is how the project will be developed in the institutional unit RITA, a technology network in charge of supporting researchers of all faculties and special programs of the university, and that will serve as a model and example for other dependencies that should implement COBIT 5.0 As stipulated in the Master Plan of Informatics and Telecommunications. The present company also implies the application of the knowledge acquired during the training process in the curriculum project of Industrial Engineering by the project authors.
