Resumen
In this section of the Voces y Regiones program, the topic of citizen oversight in San José del Guaviare is discussed, highlighting its importance in monitoring public administration. The Law 850 of 2003 is explained, which regulates the creation and operation of oversight committees as mechanisms of citizen participation that allow people to exercise social control over the management of public resources.
It is emphasized that oversight committees can be formed and activated when projects are developed in various sectors, such as education, health, and infrastructure, with the goal of ensuring transparency and preventing irregularities in their execution. Additionally, the role of the Network of Oversight Committees (Red de Veedurías) is mentioned, as it serves to strengthen and support these mechanisms by providing guidance and assistance to citizens interested in monitoring public projects.
The program underscores the importance of community involvement in supervising the use of resources and demanding accountability from authorities, ensuring the effective and fair development of the region.
