El libro reúne las particularidades de una lectura semiótica de la ciudad de Bogotá. Para lograr tal fin, transitamos y vinculamos, tanto sus componentes materiales, subjetivos y socioculturales, como sus determinaciones históricas. Nuestra mirada fue apoyada por las posturas de Fabio Zambrano, Armando Silva, José Luis Romero y Ángel Rama, entre otros autores. Los resultados del esfuerzo dejan ver que la partera de Bogotá tiene dos rostros: la violencia agraria y la violencia epistémica, tejidas eficazmente por una ‘ciudad letrada’ que aún cuida con celo tensiones sociales que generan segregación y exclusión. Basados en lo anterior, afirmamos que Bogotá está habitada por ciudadanos cosmopolitas o gente de bien, que se oponen a los lobos o fanfarrones, herederos andinos de los corronchos. No obstante, frente al mismo espejo de la tradición, todos actuamos como fugitivos; esto es, deseando huir de nosotros mismos y de nuestros nichos; pero, sin dejar de ser los que somos. Así las cosas, en cada fuga, la capital colombiana muda su identidad social, no sin dejar huellas de su paradójico porvenir
Resumen
The book brings together the particularities of a semiotic reading of the city of Bogotá. To achieve this goal, we transit and link both its material, subjective and sociocultural components, as well as its historical determinations. Our view was supported by the positions of Fabio Zambrano, Armando Silva, José Luis Romero and Ángel Rama, among other authors. The results of the effort show that the midwife of Bogotá has two faces: agrarian violence and epistemic violence, effectively woven by a 'literate city' that still zealously guards social tensions that generate segregation and exclusion. Based on the above, we affirm that Bogotá is inhabited by cosmopolitan citizens or good people, who oppose the wolves or braggarts, Andean heirs of the corrunchos. However, facing the same mirror of tradition, we all act like fugitives; that is, wanting to escape from ourselves and our niches; but, without ceasing to be who we are. Thus, in each flight, the Colombian capital changes its social identity, but not without leaving traces of its paradoxical future.
