Resumen
Voices and Regions is a radio program from the Directorate for Citizen Participation and Communal Action of the Ministry of the Interior, which is broadcast weekly at different times. In this broadcast, the central theme is the construction of public policies, especially in relation to the LGBTI community in Pasto and other regions of southwestern Colombia. The guest, Cristina González, transgender leader, discusses the progress made by the LGBTI community in terms of inclusion and participation in political and social spaces, despite the difficulties. Cristina highlights the role of social organizations in the fight for the rights of this community, mentioning examples of public policies and their implementation at both the municipal and departmental levels, in addition to the challenges faced by the LGBTI community in terms of discrimination and violence. Issues related to raising awareness and compliance with human rights are also addressed, emphasizing the need for greater visibility and legal protection for the LGBTI population.
