Abstract

The image contains news about an official historical communication from the Republic of New Granada, which corresponds to current Colombia, dated June 1835. The circular deals with the implementation of a law for the establishment of urban prisons, with the objective of improving public safety and employment of convicted criminals. It focuses on the organization, subsistence and security of these prisons, as well as the provision of clothing for prisoners, and establishes guidelines for the participation of prisoners in public works, seeking their reintegration and the benefit of the community.
