Today the large food, pharmaceutical, chemical and petrochemical industries owe a large part of their success to technological advances that have made it possible to optimize and efficiency the machines used to process the different chemical substances that are handled. One of the keys to success for these industries is, in fact, the proper use of chemical reactors, storage reactors and others, which directly affect the quality of the product and, therefore, the industrial productivity of the companies. This document shows the process by which the design of a reactor with a capacity of 50 liters and interchangeable agitation was carried out for the company INMECOLSA S.A. With this reactor, the aim is to provide a service to customers to adequately select the type of agitation for a certain production process. Under the requirements established by the company, the variables to be used both in the design and in the simulation were defined, from which it was possible to obtain power curves for each agitation to be studied, allowing comparison with respect to experimental curves that served as references for validate these agitations, giving approximate results between the experimental curves and those obtained by CFD simulation.
