Abstract

The image contains news about the San Diego asylum, we had the opportunity to visit the recently built part of the asylum and we lived with pleasure that neither the living rooms nor the barred rooms for the insane leave anything to be desired. Unfortunately, the work has been paralyzed due to lack of resources, and in the small space that exists today, 600 unfortunate people are sheltered, of which there are 100 between crazy and insane, 100 crazy and 400 beggars of both sexes. The premises today are only capable of seating 300; so that the unfortunate people sleep crowded in the living rooms, most of them sleeping on the floor and even under the few beds that the establishment has.
